POLITICO: Speaker Pelosi's kid presser today, nothing but flags and chocolate
During Speaker Pelosi’s kids press conference today – where anything can happen – one adorable guy raised his hand to ask a question. Now, as Pelosi followers know, there is always Ghirardelli chocolate around the Speaker, as not only does Pelosi love her chocolate, but Ghirardelli is in her district, and today’s conference was no different with a huge basket of chocolate in front of her.
And so, little 3-year-old Charlie Wooters continued on with his question – surely his parents’ hearts were racing at that point - and he stood up and said, “Why do you have all that chocolate and flags?" to the delight of the crowd, and his parents, who had no idea what he was going to ask.
His mother, Stacy Kerr, is Speaker Pelosi’s right hand gal while his father, CR Wooters, works for Rep. Chris Van Hollen’s leadership office, also a close Pelosi’er, so the chances of asking “Why are mommy and daddy always working” were high.
